AVS modules

new generation of vibration monitoring systems

AVS modules

AVS 1001HF and AVS 1003LF are miniature industrial systems for vibration and temperature monitoring with built-in signal processing, all enclosed in a sensor-sized housing.

AVS modules enable the direct reading of parameter values, such as Peak-to-Peak, RMS acceleration, RMS velocity, and temperature, from the module using any device that supports the Modbus RS-485 communication protocol.

Advantages

#1 | Signal processing in the module

The built-in electronics automatically calculate key estimates, significantly reducing implementation costs and eliminating the need for extensive external systems.

#2 | Data reading via Modbus RS-485

Direct communication with PLC controllers, SCADA systems, and other devices using the widely adopted industrial Modbus RS-485 standard.

#3 | Cloud service – AVS CLOUD

Convenient access to data, visualisations, reports, and alarms from anywhere in the world via the intuitive AVS CLOUD platform (optional).

#4 | Integrated temperature measurement

Simultaneous measurement of vibration and temperature enables faster detection of issues such as excessive friction, overload, or cooling system failures.

#5 | Up to 100 modules on a single cable

The ability to connect up to 100 sensors in series allows the entire installation to be implemented with a single 4-core cable, significantly reducing installation costs and improving clarity.

#6 | Installation based on standard connectors and cables

The system is easy to build thanks to its use of industry-standard M12 (5-pin) connectors, standard cables, and splitters.

#7 | Thread, magnet or adhesive mounting

The modules can be installed in threaded mounting holes, and when non-invasive installation is required, they can be attached using adhesive or mounted with a magnet.

#8 | Multiple data analysis options

Measurements can be analyzed locally directly on a PC using diagnostic software, on PLC controllers, or in a SCADA system, as well as remotely in the cloud.

#9 | Stainless steel housing

The modules meet the IP67 standard, and their housing is made of stainless steel, which translates into high resistance to almost all unfavourable operating conditions.

#10 | Miniaturisation without losing measurement quality

The use of modern Analog Devices converters has made it possible to enclose the system in a housing the size of a standard sensor (50 × 22 mm), without any loss of signal quality compared to piezoelectric sensors.

Applications

With these modules, you can detect, among others:

  • In shafts and couplings: imbalance, misalignment, looseness, and damage
  • In drives: rotor imbalance, mechanical looseness, mounting issues, drive overloads, and short circuits
  • In fans: imbalance, uneven blade loading, and shaft misalignment
  • In gearboxes: raceway wear, tooth damage, and backlash
  • In rolling bearings: early stages of damage and faults.
  • Other operational issues: excessive friction, cooling problems, and other machine anomalies

The choice of module depends on the type of fault you want to detect:

  • AVS 1003LF is used for general mechanical monitoring (e.g., imbalance, misalignment), where simultaneous measurement in three axes is essential.
  • AVS 1001HF is used for detecting early-stage faults (e.g., bearing raceway damage) that require high sampling frequency and envelope analysis.
